Welcome Back!

It was definitely nice to be home for a while. Last semester, was the most demanding I’ve had at SBCC, academically. But it all paid off and my family were really proud of my achievements. England was extremely rainy, but not like I’d seen it in a while. Especially where I live, in Surrey, made headlines for the copious amounts of storms and flooding. This meant we had no power the entire Christmas week. This meant no heat, no hot water, nothing for five days! It was SO cold. But luckily I stayed at friends for most of it, and we spent Christmas at my Uncle’s home.

Regardless, I enjoyed catching up with my family and friends. I can’t really describe what it’s like when you don’t see them for a long period of time. Think it makes the short time you do have together, that much more special! But it’s still weird being back in England, and after over a month of NO fast food…. I was itching to come back. However, a few of my friends are at University in the center of London, so I visited and stayed there up there a lot. Part of the attraction is there is the London Borough Market, which has really, really nice food. Sort of like a Farmers Market but not the produce, the actual meals. Still can’t beat an In n Out though! I also went to the Tate Modern.. quite a famous Art Gallery, usually has some great exhibits on, if a tad weird! Anyway, I had a great time.. I recuperated and had some really great fun. I definitely don’t think the goodbye’s get any easier though, my poor mummy!

So here we are, my final Semester in Santa Barbara. I do feel ready to transfer now, I’ll be sad to go but I aim to make this semester truly great. I’m looking forward to Coachella mid- April and spending a lot of time on the beach. Oh and a few of my friends are visiting in February and April. I can't wait to show them around, they will be in heaven and never want to leave, I'm sure. I am just filling out my classes for IGETC to transfer. So I’m taking, Intro to Sociology, Geography and a Lab with that, Intro to Film, Statistics (more Maths!) It’s very different to my usual Political Science heavy semesters, which as you’ve probably noticed by now where my heart really lies! Anyway, I hope everyone is getting back into the swing of things. I think the first few weeks are always a little overwhelming, and you’ve got to manage the Jet Lag a little!
